I've been eating breakfast at Okey Dokey almost every day for the past three years. They have THE BEST Agua de Pepino (Cucumber Water) which is supposed to be great for your skin. They also have fresh squeezed juices when available and the most delicious bacon and cheese omelets.
Just off the main 'avenida,' Irma is a culinary legend in the village and serves a nice variety of great food at affordable prices. Outdoor seating year round and while many places here have 'flexible opening and closing days and times,' you can always count on for Irma's to be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Definitely a favorite for many folks around here.
The Aloha Restaurant has very tasty pizza and a wide selection of different types of food but this day we went for their delicious pancakes with fruit, syrup and jam. This open air restaurant is right on the avenida and has wonderful air conditioning in the summer months (which not many restaurants have here!)
There is a lovely atmosphere and comfortable outdoor seating at Avanti Trattoria. What I like most is that it's in a very quiet part of town, about two blocks from the beach. Today we had breakfast but they also serve delicious pasta, pizzas, weekly specials and holiday meals. Their full menu is in the video. Be sure to make reservations early for holiday meals - they fill up quickly!
Chocolamour is a quaint courtyard cafe serving breakfast, lunch and sweets - including brownies and crepes. Located in a residential neighborhood about 5 blocks from the main avenida, there is a very fresh, relaxing atmosphere. They are open until 2pm. They are also now renting rooms in their lovely attached home.
La Vitola is my local Italian restaurant and is just a stone's throw from the beach and malecon. There is a lovely upstairs seating area with nice breezes and partial ocean and sunset views. They specialize in pastas and pizzas cooked in their wood fired "horno." There is a great atmosphere here and the staff is very attentive and friendly.
